Finding Cases

Before starting, open the list you wish to find a case in.

Performing a Search

You may be able to search the lists of other users within your organisation. Refer to Searching the Lists of Other Users in Your Organisation for more information.

  1. Click search case at the top of the Case Manager.
  2. Click Clear Filter to clear all fields from any previous search.
  3. Enter search criteria, in part, in full or by using the wildcard *.
    • Click here for an explanation of each search field.
    • In certain fields, you can enter part of a search term and enter * in place of the unknown part. This is particularly useful, if, for example, you only know part of a license number or case number. You might enter CEQ* in the License plate no. field to search for a case containing CEQ in the license plate or *0307 in the Case Number field to search for a case containing 0307 in the case number.
  4. Click Search to display results.
    • When you click Search, the system displays at the top of the Case Manager and the following message: Filters have been applied! This indicates that the system is filtering the current list. You can reset the list contents by clicking this icon. You can re-activate the filter, using the same search criteria, at any stage by clicking activate filter. Click here to read more.

Sorting Columns

You can sort any columns in a list to find a case. For example, to find the case with the latest creation date, click the Creation Date column header. You will find the case with the latest creation date at the bottom of the list.

  1. Click a column header to sort in ascending order (first to last, a to z) and a second time to sort in descending order (last to first, z to a).

Changing the Page Number and the Number of Cases Shown Per Page

If you can't find a case in a list, try checking to see if there is more than a single page. Click:

- Next next group to view the next page.

- Previous previous group to view the previous page.

Note: If configured, you can change how many cases are displayed per page by making a selection from the Number of items per page drop-down box in the Customisation page. The default is 10 cases per page. Refer to Customising the System.
