Making Changes to Mounted Tires
By default, the system assumes that the vehicle still has its original tires and so the details shown for the mounted tires will be the same as those shown for serial tires. Of course, if you selected wheels from the Optional Equipment tab in the UST, the system will display the specific details of the optional wheels' tires. Whether you selected wheels as optional equipment or not, you can use the Vehicle Data page to review the details of the mounted tires and, if necessary make changes, including dimensions and price. You can also add:
- Details of the tires mounted on a third, fourth and fifth axle.
- Details of the tire mounted on the spare wheel.
- Background information about tire and rims.
Remember that to include the value of the vehicle's tires in the vehicle valuation, you must add the tread depths for the mounted tires and make sure a price is displayed in the Price field.
Editing and entering tire prices and dimensions
- Click Vehicle Data from the menu bar.
- Typically, in addition to general mounted tire details, you will find that the system has filled the Price This price is based on the available information for the vehicle you identified. field for the mounted tires. If so, you will see the following message in the Tires section: Tire price completed automatically.
- For Axle 1, clear the value in the Price field.
Why?The initial tire price for the vehicle identified in the Search Tree and any price subsequently generated by the system is protected. If you wish to edit tire details and receive an updated price, you must delete the existing price. If you do not do this, it is still possible to edit tire details but your changes will not be reflected in the tire price and subsequently in the vehicle valuation.
- You can clear the values in all fields for an axle by clicking
.
- Edit any of the details shown for the mounted tires and add any missing information. Remember that you must enter tire tread depths to include tire values in the vehicle valuation.
- Notice that as you make changes, the system tries to update the tire price for you. If this is not possible, the Price field will remain empty and you will see the following message in the Tires section: No standard tire price for the entered tire data available. Tire valuation will not be possible until you enter tire prices. If so, you must enter the per tire price manually in the Price field. If you do not, the system will not be able to calculate the vehicle value. The following message will display in the Vehicle Valuation page: Zu den eingegebenen Reifendimensionen existiert kein Neupreis. Bitte Neupreis für Bewertung eingeben.
- The default value for the Constr, Speed Rating, Tyre and Type drop-down lists depends on your configuration.

Adding background tire information
Although only for information purposes and with no influence on the vehicle valuation result, you can add background information about the mounted tires and rims:
- Tire manufacturer.
- Rim manufacturer.
- Rim kind.
- Tire condition.
Notice that for tire manufacturer, rim manufacturer and tire condition there is a drop-down box and an adjacent text field. When you make a selection from a drop-down box, the value is copied to the text field so that you can add further text if necessary, for example, the tire model. Please note that only the information displayed in the text field will be included in the valuation report.
