Performing the Calculation
If configured, the system will perform two calculations, one using OEM parts and another using alternative manufacturer parts.
- Once you have selected calculation options, click Calculate.
- Results are displayed in the Calculation Output page.
- If prompted, enter the inspection place postcode and click Save.
- The postcode must be between 2 and 5 numerical characters in length.
- You can also enter the postcode in the Inspection page.
Notes:
- If you previously selected labour rates and ID Block Codes and performed a calculation and have since made changes to either, you must re-calculate. If you do not do so, the system will notify you in both the Calculation options and Calculation output pages that this is necessary. In addition, will display against the Calculation output page in the menu bar.
- If you chose to include a short valuation in the calculation of repair costs, when you click Calculate, the system checks that the first registration date is no more than 12 months after the production end date of the vehicle. If it is more than 12 months after, the system will display the following error message: The first registration of the vehicle lies more than 1 months after the production end. To include a short valuation with the calculation you must either edit the first registration date you entered or enter a base value.
- If the system also performed an alternative parts calculation, you can generate an Alternative Parts report to view the details of parts, part selections and generated savings by selecting one of the alternative reports options from the Print Format drop-down box in the Print Customisation dialog box. Refer to Creating PDF Reports
- If configured, you can view the details of the alternative parts calculation by clicking Show Part Report in the Calculation output page. You must make sure you have select an alternative parts calculation from the list of calculations. These are marked with an asterisk.
- If you make any changes that affect the repair cost calculation (vehicle damage or labour rates) and re-calculate repair costs, you should also re-calculate vehicle depreciation. The system will display the following message in the Calculation Output page and Depreciation page to remind you to do this: Values have changed - please re-calculate vehicle depreciation. See Calculating Vehicle Depreciation.
