Selecting Filters

To make selection easier, the system organises vehicle characteristics into categories and displays these in the Filters section. If there is more than one characteristic in a category, the system displays a number in brackets to indicate how many. For example, Body Type (3), indicates that there are three possible body types for the vehicle.

Filters behave dynamically. When you select a filter, for example, engine type or fuel type, the remaining filters (characteristics, versions, tariff date) are updated to ensure that they are feasible.

Click here to see the buttons you can use when selecting and de-selecting characteristics.

  1. Click a category to expand it.
  2. Click a vehicle characteristic to select it as a filter.
    • The system displays your selection in the Active Filters box in the bottom left-hand corner and updates the remaining filters in the Filters section. The system also updates the vehicle versions in the Version section in the middle of the page.
  3. Make further selections as necessary.
  4. Click a vehicle version from the Version section to select it.
    • The system displays the selection at the top of the page and updates the tariff dates in the Tariff date section on the right-hand side of the page.
    • For certain vehicles and vehicle versions, valuation information available will display alongside the vehicle version to indicate that, if you perform a vehicle valuation, the UST will pass on details of the value of the vehicle's equipment. This means that when performing a vehicle valuation the calculated vehicle value will also include correct information about the value of vehicle equipment. For information about performing a vehicle valuation, see Performing a Vehicle Valuation.
    • If configured, if there are multiple vehicle versions with the same version name, the system will give further information about each version in parenthesis. You can use this information to make the correct version selection. Of course, if this additional information provides enough detail for you to correctly identify the vehicle you can avoid having to filter the list of versions.
  5. Click a tariff date to select it. The vehicle is now identified and the system displays basic vehicle details in the Details tab.
    • If you have already selected vehicle equipment and for whatever reason need to change the tariff date, the system will ask you if want to remove all of your selections and start from scratch or transfer your selections to the new tariff date. Click here for information about the options available to you.
    • If you have already performed a vehicle valuation and you have the correct permissions, the system will display further details about the identified vehicle in the Additional Information tab. Details include rental car classification and break compensation rate.
  6. Click:

    - Accept to return to the Vehicle Identification UST page.

    • The system enters the vehicle details in the Vehicle for Calculation and Vehicle for Valuation sections. These details are sufficient for capturing vehicle damage, performing a vehicle damage calculation and performing a vehicle valuation. If there are any ambiguous model options, you may need to resolve these. Refer to Resolving Selection Conflicts and Ambiguous Model Options.
    • If you de-selected the AX only tickbox to identify a vehicle for a manual or phantom calculation, when you click Accept, the system will ask you to identify the closest vehicle match. Click here to read more.

    - Configuration > to configure equipment for the identified vehicle.

    - Cancel to return to the Vehicle Identification UST page, rejecting all changes.

    - < Selection to return to the search stage.

Notes:

- Once you have configured vehicle equipment, you cannot modify the values used to search for the vehicle without losing all of your equipment selections. If you return to the search stage by clicking < Back and then < Selection, the system will warn you that if you do so, you will lose all of your equipment selections. You must click Continue to return to the search stage. It is also possible that the system will display this warning if you make a different vehicle version selection.

- If you open the Search Tree later, after having already searched for a vehicle, the system will take you straight to the filtering stage. You do not need to perform a new search, although you can do this by clicking < Selection. You might also do this to modify an existing search.

- You can compare the serial equipment of any two identified vehicles. Click here to learn how.
