Using Your Address Book to Select a Repairer

Simple Search

When performing a simple search, you can use * in place of any part of the search term that you are unsure about. So, for example, if you are unsure of the last digits of a postcode, you could enter the digits you do know, for example 33 and then *. The system will search for any contacts with 33 as the first two digits in the postcode.

  1. Enter a search term in one or more of the following fields:
  2. Click Search.
  3. To select a repairer click send case in the Action column or the link in the Id/Name column.

Searching for a Repairer For Fictitious Settlements

If configured, you can search for repairers for fictitious settlements. You can search by postcode or combine a postcode search with a more detailed search by garage type and whether the garage has been approved to carry out repairs for fictitious settlements.

Postcode Search

  1. Select one of the following options to restrict your search to a postcode and distance from postcode.
  2. Size of radius (this is the distance in all directions from the manually entered postcode.)
  3. Click Search Fictitious.
  4. To select a repairer click send case in the Action column or the link in the Id/Name column.

Combined Postcode, Garage Type and Approved for Fictitious Settlement Search

  1. Select a postcode and radius.
  2. Select a garage type:
  3. Select the Fictitious Settlement tickbox to restrict the search to repairers that have been approved to carry out repairs for fictitious settlements.
  4. Click Search Fictitious.
  5. To select a repairer click send case in the Action column or the link in the Id/Name column.

Notes:

- Click a column header once to sort results by that column and in ascending order and once again to sort in descending order.

- By default, results are divided into groups of five. Click Next next group or Previous previous group to change the group in view or select a group from the drop-down box.

- To view information about a user or organisation click .

- You can hide the search fields in the address book by clicking search case. This gives you more room to view the actual list in the address book.

- If configured, you can select a specific user or contact within an organisation. Click select organisation contact against the organisation and then send case in the Action column against the desired user or contact.

- In a default configuration, the system displays the Group, Kind and Role filter. In your configuration, you might not be able to see one of more of these filters.

- The configuration of the system determines which search fields display.
