Using Your Address Book to Select a Repairer
Simple Search
When performing a simple search, you can use * in place of any part of the search term that you are unsure about. So, for example, if you are unsure of the last digits of a postcode, you could enter the digits you do know, for example 33 and then *. The system will search for any contacts with 33 as the first two digits in the postcode.
- Enter a search term in one or more of the following fields:
- Name
- Company Name
- Postcode
- Street
- City
- Click Search.
- To select a repairer click
in the Action column or the link in the Id/Name column.
Searching for a Repairer For Fictitious Settlements
If configured, you can search for repairers for fictitious settlements. You can search by postcode or combine a postcode search with a more detailed search by garage type and whether the garage has been approved to carry out repairs for fictitious settlements.
Postcode Search
- Select one of the following options to restrict your search to a postcode and distance from postcode.
- Zip of Experts Survey (use expert's postcode to find nearest repairer - option only available if an inspection place postcode has been entered for the case. You can enter this in the Inspection page).
- Zip of Owners Address (use vehicle owner's postcode to find nearest repairer - option only available if the vehicle owner's postcode has been entered for the case. You can enter this in the Vehicle owner page).
- Manual Entered Zip (enter a postcode manually. To be used together with Size of radius option).
- Nationwide (ignore postcode and size of radius when searching for repairers).
- Size of radius (this is the distance in all directions from the manually entered postcode.)
- Click Search Fictitious.
- To select a repairer click
in the Action column or the link in the Id/Name column.
Combined Postcode, Garage Type and Approved for Fictitious Settlement Search
- Select a postcode and radius.
- Select a garage type:
- Authorised Garage (restrict search to repairers that have been marked as authorised to carry out repairs for a specific vehicle manufacturer).
- Quality Garage (restrict search to repairers that have been marked as one of the quality garage).
- Free garage (restrict search to repairer that have been marked as free).
- All garage (show all repairers within postcode and radius).
- Select the Fictitious Settlement tickbox to restrict the search to repairers that have been approved to carry out repairs for fictitious settlements.
- Click Search Fictitious.
- To select a repairer click
in the Action column or the link in the Id/Name column.- If you selected a repairer that is approved for fictitious settlements, when you return to the Labour Rates page, the repairer will be marked as suitable for fictitious settlements. If repairer details include an SVS name, this will also be shown.

Notes:
- Click a column header once to sort results by that column and in ascending order and once again to sort in descending order.
- By default, results are divided into groups of five. Click Next
or Previous
to change the group in view or select a group from the drop-down box.
- To view information about a user or organisation click
.
- You can hide the search fields in the address book by clicking
. This gives you more room to view the actual list in the address book.
- If configured, you can select a specific user or contact within an organisation. Click
against the organisation and then
in the Action column against the desired user or contact.
- In a default configuration, the system displays the Group, Kind and Role filter. In your configuration, you might not be able to see one of more of these filters.
- The configuration of the system determines which search fields display.

Accessing Favourites List
- Click
to open your address book, select the Favourites option button from Group. - Click Search. Your favourites list displays.
Adding Users and Organisations to Your Favourites List
- Search for a user or organisation in your address book.
- Click
against the user or organisation you wish to add to your list or click Add all to Favourites to add all users in the address book to your favourites list.
Removing Users and Organisation From Your Favourites List
- Open your favourites list.
- Click
against the user or organisation you wish to remove from your list.
