Copying Cases

You can create a new case by copying an existing one. This is particularly useful if you want to check a case calculation without changing the existing case. When you copy a case, you can select which information from the existing case to use for the new one. Once the copy process is complete, you can edit this information to reflect any differences between the new and existing case.

When you copy a case, you automatically become the owner of the new case.

1. Navigate to the Open list.
2. Click in the Actions column against the case you wish to copy.
   • You can also copy a case by opening it and then clicking Copy Case.
3. Click OK to confirm you wish to copy the case. The Create a copy of the current case dialog box displays.
4. Select the items from the current case that you wish to copy to the new case.
5. Enter the case number in the case number field.
   • In your configuration, you may be able to use the case number of the existing case also for the new one.
6. Click:

   - OK to confirm the copy.

   - Cancel to close the dialog box without copying the case.

Notes:

- If you entered search criteria in the VALUEpilot page, this information will be copied to the new case. However, valuation results will not be copied.

- Vehicle owner details will only be copied if you select vehicle data.
