Using Extended Equipment Rules

Standard equipment rules do not always identify all conflicts arising from your equipment selections. This is especially true with equipment variants. For example, if you select two steering wheels or two sets of optional tires, it is possible that standard rules will not identify the conflict. To identify this type of conflict, the system includes a set of extended equipment rules, which you can use to check your selections.

  1. Click toolbox to open the Toolbox.
  2. Click Optimization. The Conflicting Equipment dialog box displays details of any conflicts.
  3. To resolve conflicts, do one of the following:

    - Click the tickbox for the variant you wish to select. If displayed, click extra info to view more information about a variant.

    - Click (De-)Select All Equipment to select all / de-select all variants.

  4. Click Accept to confirm your selections and close the dialog box.
    • The system helps prevent variant conflicts by checking your equipment selections against these extended rules when you click Accept to return to the Vehicle Identification UST page. If any conflicts are found, the system will ask you to select the correct variant(s).
