Performing a Phantom Calculation

When you need to capture damage for a vehicle that does not exist in the OnePad database, you can identify the closest vehicle match in the database and then overwrite the description of this vehicle (manufacturer, model, sub-model) with the description of the new vehicle. This is called a phantom calculation.

For example, vehicle A does not exist in the database. The closest match to this vehicle in the database is vehicle B. A phantom calculation overwrites the manufacturer, model, and sub-model of vehicle B, using the details of vehicle A.

  1. Having identified the closest vehicle match, open OnePad.
  2. Click .
  3. Click Phantom Calculation. The Phantom Calculation dialog box displays.
  4. Complete the Manufacturer, Model, and Submodel fields. You can use the keyboard pad to enter this information by clicking keyboard . Click here to read more about the keyboard and calculator pads.
  5. Select the number of work units per hour.
  6. Click:

    - OK to confirm.

    - Cancel to return to the Model Options dialog box.

Notes:

- The selections made when performing a phantom calculation do not affect the original manufacturer, model and submodel selections.

- The duration of a work unit as defined in the system database for the vehicle that you selected, might have been calculated on the basis of a different time ratio. Changing the ratio for work units will therefore also change the work duration per part.
