Notes:
- If you have enabled interactive cost optimisations and the cost associated with your repair method selection exceeds a threshold, the system will ask you whether you want to perform an optimisation. For certain optimisations, for example E to I, you can override the system stored work units for the repair work by entering a new value in the Alternate Work Units field. For more information about configuring cost optimisations, refer to Configuring Cost Optimisations.
- You can view further details about the repair and paint methods you selected and any subsequent actions you performed such as calculating work units by clicking MOD in the Repair Panel.
- Remember that you can also use the Update Existing Standard Position and Update Existing Non-standard Position dialog boxes to change your repair and paint method selections. You can also select additional methods and override system values. Refer to Editing Standard and Non-standard Positions for more information.
- In certain configurations, when you select a repair or paint method, the system will request further information such as the extent of damage.
- If you selected the option Always Prompt for H and U in the User Settings tab, the system will automatically prompt you to select either H or U as an additional repair option. For example, if you select repair method E, you might be asked if you wish to activate repair method H. Click to activate the additional repair option or to close the dialog box. Select the Do not show this message again tickbox if you don't want to be prompted again for this part.
- The configuration of the system determines whether (1) only the zone where the part was selected is highlighted in the Zone Navigation tab or (2) both the zone where the part was selected and any other zones that the part belongs to are highlighted. In the second configuration, if you try to apply a repair or paint method to a part that has already been captured in another zone, the system will display the following message: Guide Number XXX is already selected in another zone. Should the selection change to this zone? If you want the system to highlight the currently active zone, click . If you want the system to highlight the zone where the part was originally captured, click .
